The end of Daylight Savings Time reminds us that winter is fast approaching. Even if you can’t wait for the holiday season and cozy clothes, or a good book by the fire, changing the clocks can feel brutal on your system. Although in the Northern Hemisphere, we gain an extra hour, losing sunlight, can bring us fatigue, confusion which can cause sadness and depression. Softening into yin yoga poses gives the body a true chance to soften into the earth and connect to a new rhythm. In yin, you can let go of held tension in the body, while releasing energetic blockages and mindfully connect to the sensations of breathing. Our workshop will include breathing practices to help balance the endocrine system, which includes sleep cycles, and yoga poses, and target meridian lines that correlate with the fall season. Your internal clock will calibrate to the new time more efficiently and you will leave with a renewed sense of appreciation found within the colder, shorter days.
